Ox02d: regeneration of drying columns + 3 l/min 100% oxygen!

This new 2-column setup is getting closer to commercial devices in terms of production rate and size. Again we are only using one timeswitch (4s ON/4s OFF). We are using two drying columns in this setup: The first before the inlet into the control valve and the second one regenerating by connecting it to the dry exhaust coming from the depressurizing zeolite column. To regenerate the first column, we simply switch both drying columns manually. We are using LiX zeolite purchased from Zeochem GmbH

Ox02c: Using simple time switches for cycling!

This new 2-column setup uses a silent oilfree compressor for pressurized air feed. We limited the number of required 3-way solenoid valves to two although we are using two filled zeolite columns. The valves are switched with a time switch, which can be programmed easily without any further technical knowledge.

  • Feed: 2 bar compressed air

Ox01d: Oxygenator connected to face mask

We have deviced a new single column setup optimized for high oxygen concentration. The next goal for Ox01d is to make it even simpler, getting rid of Arduino maybe and using cheaper valves with same output.

  • 1: 3-way valve

  • 4: needle valve
  • Zeolite bed: 750 g LiX
  • Feed: 5 bar from compressor with pressurized air filter
  • Simple bubbler + bacterial filter
  • Snorkelling face mask

  • Production: 5-6 l/min with 40% oxygen, about 70% relative humidity
  • Cycling: 4 s pressurize 4 s depressurize

We started using larger columns with 750g zeolite capacity and were able to produce 2 L/min of 80% oxygen.

We have tested a single column setup with the pressure provided by a USD 250 compressor. Production is at 10 L/min and 42% oxygen.
